Day 3 – Kandy City
The old city of Kandy is renowned as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. This beautiful city is situated at the heart of the Sri Lanka and it is full with rich and colourful cultural heritage of this country. The Kandy city is well known for home to the several ancient temples and most notably renowned for the ‘Temple of the Tooth’ or ‘Dalada Maligawa’, where the tooth relic of the Lord Buddha is kept. The peacefulness of this amazing temple, as well as its rich architecture, will surely leave you amazed. The city also comes with the largest botanical garden of the island, known as the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Day 4 – Nuwara Eliya City
The Nuwara Eliya city is the highest city of Sri Lanka as it is 6,182 feet high from the sea level. Located at the foot of Mount Pidurutalagala and because of the amazing hills the city, it is also recognized as the garden city of the Asia. This hill town has plenty to offer you that surely leave you breathless. Apart from this, you can also see the Hakgala gardens and go to the Horton Plains. Day 5 – Ella
Ella is the most visited town in Hill Country among foreign travellers. During the drive from the train station to our guesthouse I was shocked to see how touristy such a small town can get. The cafés and restaurants are “westernised” and there are countless guesthouses and B&Bs.
It is that touristy for a reason. It is located in the middle of the beautiful Hill Country of Sri Lanka and offers perfect hiking trails.

Day 6 – Udawalawe
Udawalawe National Park is the best National Park in Sri Lanka if you want to see Elephants at close quarter.
